What is a masterbatch?

It is a plastic colorant made of a high proportion of pigments or additives and thermoplastic resins, and then dispersed relatively well. The selected resin has good wetting and dispersion for the colorant, and has good compatibility with the material to be colored. So it is a masterbatch formed by pigment + carrier + additive = masterbatch. 

However, we know that masterbatch belongs to plastic products, and there is no difference from ordinary ones in terms of shape.

Masterbatch is a colored plastic particle that is granulated by the manufacturer after mixing resin raw materials with pigment additives. However, its main function is coloring. 

After all, it has been evenly mixed with the base resin. Therefore, it can be directly mixed with the base resin and other additives to obtain colored plastic products.

Plastic particles have a wide range. New materials, recycled materials, masterbatch crushed materials, etc. can all be called plastic particles. However, masterbatch is a color concentrated masterbatch made from a simple carrier, which can also be understood as color concentrated materials. Generally speaking, there are special masterbatches and black and white masterbatches. It refers to the product of mixing all granular plastics and other additives. Masterbatch is also a kind of plastic particles.

Main uses of masterbatch:

1. Processing performance of titanium dioxide: strong processability, affecting the production cost of masterbatch.

2. Whiteness of titanium dioxide: determines the appearance of light-colored plastic products with the same titanium dioxide content.

3. Coloring power of titanium dioxide: determines the amount of titanium dioxide used in the same color of plastic products.

4. Dispersibility of titanium dioxide: affects the production cost of masterbatch and the appearance, gloss and other indicators of plastic products.
